Contest Guidelines: Open June 5th, 2020. Entries for the Anton Chekhov Prize for Very Short Fiction should be 800 words or less. 

Submissions should be unpublished and in .rtf, .doc, or .docx format. Deadline is July 15th, 2020. The entries will be read blind by NFFR Staff. Feel free to submit multiple stories, but as a SEPARATE entry (so that you complete an individual submission process for each story). All stories must be submitted with no name on the story itself. Authors will retain all rights and copyright to their works. New Flash Fiction Review requests one-time, non-exclusive rights to publish your work.


Winner will receive $100 and publication in New Flash Fiction Review. Two Finalists (Honorable Mentions) will also receive pubication in New Flash Fiction Review. Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please notify us if your story has been accepted elsewhere. Winners will be announced in late summer of 2020.
